The American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB), represented by Board of Trustees members Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan, Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, and Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, along with AIUB alumnus Engr. Saiful Islam Ziko, held discussions with Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), Switzerland, on Monday, August 31, 2026, to explore potential avenues for academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

The AIUB delegation met with BFH representatives, including Prof. Dr. Emmanuel Benoit (Head, International Relations and Computer Science Professor) and Prof. Dr. Maria Franco Mosquera (Industrial Relations and Professor in the Industrial Engineering and Management division), to discuss prospective areas of cooperation. Key focus points included joint research initiatives in computer science and related disciplines, collaborative innovation projects, and mobility programs for students and faculty.

Both institutions expressed strong enthusiasm for formalizing a partnership, with plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the framework for ongoing collaboration.

This engagement underscores AIUB’s commitment to expanding its international academic footprint and creating global opportunities for its students and faculty through partnerships with world-class institutions.
