As part of our ongoing commitment to bridging academia with industry, students from the Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management (THM), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), visited Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort on August 20, 2026, for an insightful and enriching experience.

During the visit, students participated in a series of knowledge-sharing sessions focused on the functions of the hotels and career prospects in the Hospitality industry. These sessions were conducted by the key departmental leaders, including Mr. MD. Mahmud Hassan, Director of Sales & Marketing; Mr. Abu Jafar M Saleh, Executive Housekeeper; Mr. J M Kamruzzaman, Assistant Front Office Manager; Mr. Mohammad Selim, Restaurant Manager; and Mr. Md. Shiblee Mosharraf, Assistant Director of HR. The session was hosted by Mr. Abdullah Al Soman, Assistant HR Coordinator and coordinated by Mr. Tanvir Ahmed, Senior Sales Executive.

The students found the sessions enlightening and achieved valuable insights about real-world hospitality operations and career pathways. The visit concluded with an exclusive property tour, where students were captivated by the hotel’s stunning design and exceptional hospitality. The industry visit was initiated & coordinated by Ms. Sharmin Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, FBA and supported by Professor Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Director (in-charge), BBA & Head, Department of Marketing, THM & IB, FBA.

The event aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals “Quality Education” and “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.” It reflected AIUB’s commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to prepare future hospitality professionals.
